Superfood is a collective name for pure and organic ingredients that are extra rich in nutrients and are considered particularly beneficial for our health and well-being. These superfoods have high doses of antioxidants, polyphenols, amino acids, fatty acids such as omega 3, vitamins and minerals, all of which can help us boost our body's immune system and live a longer and healthier life.
Blueberries often top many superfood lists because they are rich in vitamins, antioxidants, soluble fiber, and phytochemicals. However, the same nutrients in blueberries are also found in many other types of berries, including lingonberries, rose hips, goji berries, and cranberries.
Other common superfoods are ginger, kale, avocado, spinach, beans, lentils, seeds and nuts, as well as spices such as turmeric, garlic and cinnamon (ceylon). But also green plants and algae such as spirulina, chlorella, matcha and guarana.
Black rice wins when it comes to the content of antioxidants anthocyanins which have shown promising results in the fight against heart disease and cancer. If we take a closer look, we can also see that superfoods can, among other things, regulate metabolism and help burn fat, protect organs from toxins, regulate blood pressure, reduce and prevent inflammation in the body and ensure that the stomach is well. Super duper good food then!
