Pick full-sized leaves, they are usually fine until midsummer, then they become quite hard. Remember to collect the leaves with respect for nature and not to damage the tree. It is fine to just take a few leaves – do not break any branches!
Purifying birch leaf tea:
2 tsp birch leaves (fresh or dried)
2–3 dl boiling water
a splash of fresh lemon juice
Let it steep for a while! Strain and squeeze in a little lemon juice. Keep in mind that the tea is not suitable as an evening tea as it is diuretic and the risk is that you will have to go to the toilet a few times during the night. Also remember not to overdose as it can instead irritate and damage the liver and kidneys.
Birch leaves have also been shown to be effective in treating joint and muscle pain. If you have tired and sore muscles, we recommend you try a warm bath with Birch Salt. It gives a pleasant feeling and has a skin stimulating effect. The birch leaves in combination with the essential oils of juniper, rosemary and grapefruit have a mild cleansing effect.
