Natural hair care is good for your hair, scalp and organisms in water. Anyone who has accustomed their hair to natural products gets a completely different performance on their hair.
"At the beginning of my career, I owned salons with employees. We realized that hairdressers are particularly prone to developing various forms of eczema," says Johan.

The realization that many employees and colleagues were suffering from "hairdresser's eczema" due to their frequent exposure to water and harsh chemicals such as SLS found in most common shampoos became an important discovery.

When we created c/o Gerd's hair care, it was obvious that the ingredients we used would be as gentle on people, nature and animals as possible.

Why doesn't natural shampoo foam?

"That's how it used to be! Nowadays we have completely different raw materials to work with compared to the beginning of c/o Gerd's history," says Johan.

Johan says that the first sulfate-free detergent ingredient extracted from sugar was environmentally friendly but not particularly gentle on the hair and did not lather well.

2018 was a significant year for green hair care. With the increased demand for natural and organic hair care, the development of better raw materials for higher performance began. As far as I know, we are still the first in Sweden to use an eco-certified surfactant in our hair care. It lathers well, is gentle on the hair and scalp, and is completely biodegradable.

We also use all-natural fats and vitamins from our Lappish berries which give a natural shine and are beneficial for the scalp.

Free from silicones - why? Silicone in beauty products can give the illusion of soft and smooth skin or hair, but this is usually only a temporary effect. Avoiding silicone is beneficial because it allows the skin and hair to maintain their natural balance. Silicone-free products help keep the pores of the skin and hair free from blockages, which can lead to better long-term health and beauty. They are also more environmentally friendly as they are biodegradable and do not contribute to the accumulation of synthetic substances in nature. We work exclusively with raw materials that give the same effect but that in the long term contribute to better hair health. These include extracts of quinoa and rice starch.
