The non-profit association ekobonden.se annually carries out the Eco Run and the association's purpose is to give today's eco farmer a face and show the benefits of local small-scale and natural agriculture as well as to promote consumers' personal contact with their food producer. During this year's Eco Run, the association is collaborating with two organizations, the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation in Lund and KRAV, and without these important partners, the Eco Run would not have been possible.
- The Ecotour is an important event for us to be a part of and we have been collaborating for a couple of years. Some of our local associations also invite their members to ride in a bus that takes them around between selected farms, which is very much appreciated, says Magnus Billqvist, operations coordinator at the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation in Skåne.
- Not least after this extremely dry summer that hit Swedish farmers very hard and organic farmers in particular, an event like the Ecorundan is extra important, says Anita Falkenek, CEO of KRAV. It is a good way to spread knowledge about organic crop production and animal husbandry to get more consumers to buy KRAV-labeled products. I hope that many people take the opportunity to visit the farms during this year's Ecorundan to create an understanding of organic production and how it contributes to improved climate, biodiversity and good animal care.
The concept's designer Ebba-Maria Olson at Mossagården in Veberöd and Anna Eklund at Miljö & Marknad are also involved and contributing so that the Ecorundan can continue to live on. The Ecorundan takes place on September 1-2 from 10 am to 5 pm.
"The Farmer Tells" will be held at 11 am and 2 pm both days at all farms.
