Products for acne & hormonal skin

Acne and hormonal skin often occur when the body's internal balance affects the skin's sebum production. Hormonal fluctuations can cause the sebaceous glands to work in overdrive, which can lead to clogged pores, inflammation and recurring breakouts - especially around the chin, jawline and lower face. At the same time, the skin can feel both oily and superficially dry at the same time.

The key is to create balance instead of trying to dry out your skin. An overly drying routine can stress your skin and trigger even more sebum production. Antioxidants also play an important role as they protect against external stress and help reduce inflammation – a key factor in acne. With the right, consistent skincare routine, your skin can gradually calm down and become more balanced over time.

Lingonberry is your best friend ♥

Lingonberry seed oil is a powerful yet lightweight oil that is especially great for acne and hormonal skin. Even though skin may be oily or prone to breakouts, it needs nourishment and the right type of fatty acids to balance itself – and this is where lingonberry seed oil makes a difference.

The oil is naturally rich in omega-3 and omega-6 in a well-balanced composition that helps strengthen the skin barrier and regulate sebum production. When the skin gets the right fatty acids, it can reduce the overproduction of sebum, which in turn can counteract clogged pores and new breakouts. Lingonberry seed oil also contains high levels of natural antioxidants, such as vitamin E and polyphenols. These protect the skin against external stress and free radicals that can worsen inflammation – a central factor in both acne and hormonal breakouts.

With its soothing and balancing properties, lingonberry seed oil can help reduce redness and irritation, while supporting the skin's natural protective barrier. It's also lightweight and absorbs quickly without feeling heavy or clogging pores.

Our best tips

For acne and hormonal skin, one cream alone is rarely enough. It's about creating a thoughtful routine where each step helps balance sebum production, reduce inflammation, and strengthen the skin barrier. Here are some of our very best tips for clearer, more balanced skin:

  • A gentle cleanser like Eco Clean Face White Clay helps remove excess sebum and oil. Use morning and evening in circular motions all over the face. Can also be used as a tightening mask - apply a generous layer to the face and leave on for 10-15 minutes.

  • Use light face creams during the day and supplement with oil or serum at night. Lingonberry Clear Cream provides light hydration without feeling greasy, while helping to balance sebum production and keep the skin lightly moisturized.

  • Avoid over-exfoliating too much acid or strong peels can make the skin thinner and more sensitive. Instead, opt for a gentle exfoliant like our Eco Facial Scrub . This scrub can exfoliate both chemically and mechanically. If your skin is very reactive, apply only the scrub as a face mask and let the chemical peel work. Exfoliate your skin a maximum of twice a week.
  • During the night, the skin works on its recovery and cell renewal. Apply Night Elixir Bio-Retinol 1% which helps balance the skin's sebum production. Lingonberry seed oil also has a cleansing and balancing effect.

  • Avoid touching and squeezing the sensitive areas of your face. We know it can be difficult, but the risk is that bacteria will spread, worsen the inflammation and increase the risk of scarring and pigmentation. Let the skin heal in peace as much as possible.

  • Be patient. It’s often easier said than done – especially when your skin feels unbalanced and breakouts are recurring. But remember that your skin works in cycles. It takes about 30 days for skin cells to renew themselves, and with acne or hormonal skin, the process can sometimes take even longer. So give your skin time to adapt. Changing your strategy too often or chasing quick results can create more stress for your skin. Try to be consistent, stick to your routine and only evaluate after a few weeks. Long-term and patience are often one of the most important keys to more balanced skin.
